Abstract

This research explores the transformative shift towards ethical sourcing in interior design,
responding to global concerns about environmental sustainability and ethical practices. Grounded in a
comprehensive theoretical framework, the study delves into historical perspectives, ethical considerations
in raw material sourcing, and the theoretical underpinnings of sustainable development, consumer
behavior, and innovation diffusion. Utilizing qualitative methodology and thematic analysis, the research
evaluates current ethical sourcing practices, assesses environmental and social impacts, and forecasts
future trends. The interior design field, integral to shaping built environments, exhibits a dynamic evolution
rooted in historical and cultural influences. The study traces the historical trajectory of raw material
sourcing, highlighting ethical considerations’ growing significance in contemporary discourse. As the
industry embraces ethical sourcing, it anticipates a transformative impact on design aesthetics, consumer
