ournal of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIAJ) is an academic journal, which is coordinated by the Library and Publications Committee of the Nigerian Institute of Architects. The first issue of NIAJ was published in 1981. Before 2023 all copies of the journal were printed with ISSN 2315 8913, however since 2023, the journal is printed digitally.

Waste management in educational institutions plays a critical role in fostering sustainable environmental practices and promoting public health. This study appraises waste management strategies in K-12 schools in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.

This study investigates the impact of shading devices on occupant thermal comfort in residential buildings within Bauchi Metropolis, Nigeria. Using a survey-based methodology, 120 questionnaires were distributed, with 102 valid responses analysed alongside a checklist assessing building orientation, form, shading, vegetation, and window placement1.

For sustainable learning to take place, a learning center must offer a comfortable, healthy, secure, approachable, well-lit, well-ventilated, and aesthetically pleasing physical environment. The United Nations has seen the need for quality education and coined the phrase “Sustainable Learning” which refers to the integration of play and creativity into learning.
